Exclamation New Karma Thread

I have made some more changes to the karma system that I want to explain for everyone. Here are some of the problems with the old system:
- veteran members with high post counts and high karma, had a much higher karma power than regular members (like 20:1)
- Karma counted the same in all forums
- negative karma counted less than positive (half as much)
- people could go back and give karma to old threads (even closed ones)

I just installed a mod that addresses all of these issues.
- The new system put a 5 point cap on karma power. This means that no ones karma power can count more than 5 times as much as someone else's.
- Now karma in the tech sections counts more than karma in the regular sections.
- Karma in the social (and private) sections does not count at all.
- You can no longer give karma in old or closed threads (to prevent abuse).
- I modified the power calculation so that more people will be at the max power (making it less exclusive).

Not everyone will like these changes, but they will help balance the karma system and prevent abuse. Feel free to reply with comments and questions.
