the S14 valve like the dsm one, holds 15psi, no problem, reports of more... etc i'll use two for flow, or a cheapie recirc, if i can find one. i'm definitely aware of the volume of air that will be coming out of that thing at full tilt. i dont want it slowing down if i can help it at all. trust me, i'm "on the case"

according to my caclulations, it will have more torque than the stock sohc 2l everywhere, after that, i dont care. positive pressure by 2k, full 15psi by around 4, or if i'm unlucky 5. it will have about 2m of straight through muffler and straight 3" pipe after it, so back pressure will be negligible at lower rpms to aid spooling, and should flow enough for 400 hp or so. it really needs 3.5" or 4" esp if the ex were to be longer. but its not getting it! a 3" is going to piss me off noise wise enough...

the ute engine bay is fairly roomy, and as you can see in other places, i can weld. so fitment isnt an issue, i've been wanting to share this with you lot, heres a good spot :

if he can fit that much hp in a miata bay, i can fit double that in the ute
;-)

after staring at it in pics for weeks and weeks, i actually thought it looked small when it arrived. i know its not but...

my driving style keeps rpms above 4k always (mostly above 5), so it should appear linear to me :-) we'll see, i can always slap it on an RB30DE and use an evo td05 on the fe3...

the beauty of this turbo is that its most efficient between 15 and 25 psi. so even on a stock 9:1 (what i'm hunting for today) it'll be good at the lower end. and on a forgied 8:1 it'll be good at the top end.

i've seen threads of people with them on 1.6 hondas, running 8psi, and it works for them. so i'm not worried. also rebel and countless 2l dsms, and more 2.0 and 2.2 hondas have them on and are more than happy.

my biggest worry by far is traction, and i'm doing things about that.

battery and fuel system is going on a frame behind the rear axle, and i wont be shy with the steel used to hold the tail lights, deflect jap cars, and hold the number plate. one day, i may chuck some fibreglass at the front, and about then, it will be reasonably even.

i need to sort out the clutch and shifter this week so that i can pull the sohc and little box out, and put the big box and a dohc in and start on the manifolds.

by certifiable, you mean mad? well, yes, anyone thats been in my car could have told you that ;-)

fred.
