I used to have the exhaust ending under the shifter too for about 2 months (Was only supposed to be temporary, but we all know how that goes
)
I fixed it after I took a 2hour drive, and I thought I was just sleepy from not sleeping, but I was sick as hell also... so yeah, it can [fizzle] you up...
