Fill the box 2/3 to 3/4 full of fiberfill. It helps "deaden" the air inside the enclosure. The sub thinks it has more air than it does, and it helps absorb standing waves. Open up any quality home speaker or prefab preloaded sub box, and it'll be full of the stuff. Not necessary, but an easy step to take to improve the sound of a subwoofer enclosure.
