I had a carb turbo GC that I built about 10 years ago, but it was never a serious project...It was a case of what can you build out of the parts bin.

It was a stock NA GC 2.0 8v carb engine, std carb removed with a GC turbo manifold +RHB5 std & almost stuffed turbo...I used a 1 3/4 inch SU...one of the easiest carbs to use with a turbo easiest to mount too as you literally just clamp it on to the compressor inlet!...
The whole thing was done as a bit of a joke, I just wanted to get some more power out of the std car with a budget of $0....but it used heaps of fuel and didnt run all that well when cold.

To be honest if your serious, steer clear of carbs, theyre too limiting...sure the EFI takes a bit of setting up....but its a million times better once its going.
One thing I didnt mention, As I was using the "suck through" method, which is the easiest to tune....you cant use an intercooler...as the Air/Fuel mix would be going through it...and there is a good chance it'd explode, leaving a lasting impression!
In the olden days, the suck through method was the most common way of turboing a carb motor....
