By the way, I just did some researching and I dont see that it is that important to balance an aluminum pulley after lathing it as long as the lathe has a very low tolerance, like .002" or less, and the lathe is turning at 2000 rpm or more. The act of lathing the aluminum balances it. BUT if you go and bore holes in it to lighten it, THEN you have to rebalance it, which I guess you cant do on a lathe. I really need to do some more research on this... I will call some places.
BUT, I did find out more about anodizing. The anodizing process strengthens the aluminum and is pretty important for a billet aluminum pulley. We wouldnt want the pulley to come apart. SO I think its pretty important to get them anodized regardless of color.
