I thought housing in NZ was way cheaper. Average home in Australia is like 450k or something now (average as in real average as in average wage is 48k but not really). In Sydney average might even be abit higher, it costs way so much it is stupid really, Melbourne too.
Ive got a mate that I worked with from NZ and he comes to Australia just to work because pay is good and he fully owns like 4 houses in NZ and said that it would be impossible to do in Australia. Not bad for a labourer, works 20 hour days though :/.
He just came back from working in England as well because he said pay there is crazy high, as well as the cost of living.
Nin I wonder how old those figures of livability are. It is near impossible for a young person to try to buy there own home on a mortgage even when making average or above average wage.
