One thing about the front vertical bolt (maybe for the rear one too?) is that I think I remember it being threaded into the bracket of the shifter rod as well. So not only does the nut have to come off, but you have to unscrew the bolt to get it out instead of just pushing it.
It's been two years since I did this, so someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Another thing is about the secondary linkage bushing... to be safe, the stud should be threaded into the tranny and tightened (two nut method) and then the bushing, linkage, washers and nut. It's a stud for a reason, and using it to tighten the linkage down could strip it out of the aluminum tranny and ruin your day. I had to helicoil all 6 exhaust manifold studs before I learned that lesson...
