I wouldn't go as far as saying the quality is the same as a Hotshot. I know I might be biased since I have one, but I've also had the crap ebay one. The Hotshot is made of good quality SS, while the crap ebay one is made of some super thin pot metal that gets cloudy after three drives.

Agreed on the filter though. The quality difference between a true K&N and whatever the hell they give you with your ebay one is a big one.
