The stock intake is plastic. Going with an aluminum or steel tubing would gather way more heat to the incoming air. That's why I really wish the KL's manifold wasn't aluminum.

True, it's not going to be as durable as PVC, but honestly ... how many times has a correctly installed intake ever melted on a hot pipe. Probably never.

I'm not trying to argue or prove anyone wrong, just saying from personal experience they've worked great for me. here's what i did with the Autozone Pieces to run an air from my turbo. Not pretty but works.
