strange issue. or strange description.
i have a hard time believing the main bearings are cooked.
if the rod bearings were cooked, it would make a loud knock as the pistons hit the head.
you are right about black smoke = fuel. this can be because one cylinder isnt firing at all. perhaps low compression on one? or some other uneven problem. this could also cause some feelings in the car.
