Just to heap more praise onto Nick...
I live about half a mile away from him, and took my 626 down there for a couple of things - the last one being a service.
A couple of days later, the car died on a motorway: I got it towed back to Nick, who had a look and determined that the problem was a perished wire which was shorting out on the engine block. Since this was indirectly due to the service (which had moved the cable), he very kindly taped the cable up and returned the car to me without charging me a penny.
The joy of this lasted until he tried to move the car and discovered it still wouldn't start. Further waggling of the cable revealed it was broken internally, so he ordered and fitted a new cable. When I came to pick it up, all he charged me for was the cable: no labour costs at all. I don't think there's too many garages which are willing to be this generous: the first fault could be construed as their fault, but the second problem certainly wasn't!
Nick is a nice, friendly and open guy: I can't praise him or his garage enough.
(btw Einstein: you may want to change the spelling of specialist!)
