Radar loads everything onto the megasquirt like pulse widths and all constants and even a base map that will allow you to drive around with (i have been driving on my base map for 2 months almost. He gives you all the wiring diagrams. It took me about 2 hours to solder the wires, and I took my time. All you have to do is start the car after that and Megasquirt is running the show. It really is that easy. Add some money for a wideband or for a shop to tune it for you and you are set.

Look at this way, Basic off the shelf standalone, at least $1000 for unit, $500 for installation, $500 for setting up constants. That is bare minumum, go look at that thread for prices on a Megasquirt.
