As a comparison between the GV1023 and the GV1124, we lined up both jess’s car and mine.
After all this, it was nearing RWC time. So I decided to look at the normal RW items. Brakes, suspension, etc. After listening to the caryard bloke rattle on about how all their cars get a safety check done before they’re sold, I couldn’t believe it when I pulled the brakes down. The pads were almost down to metal. The discs had a lip on the outer edge almost 2mm high! So in with some new Bendix Ultiamtes and slotted rotors that were originally on the black car.
I also decided that it needed the suspension out of the black car as the black car will be getting coilovers in the not too distant future. So in welt the custom built struts and spring combo. This included the camber bolts front and rear. The rear springs I fitted a pair of lows as the super lows would make the rear end sit about 1” too low.
I had a whiteline front strut brace laying around So that went on as well. I also had a spare 4WS rear brace and on with that too. Fitting the front brace was easy, the rear required a little extra work. The internal trims are held in via clip on top of the strut tower that fits into a piece of metal that is spot welded to the tower. It needs to be removed so that the brace can fit. The trims also need to be cut to fit the brace. So Jesse cut the upper and lower pieces perfectly to fit.
I also borrowed the wheels off the black car as they hd 95% tread and look cool to boot!
Stay tuned for more to come!
