I can't see it just being the injectors, I mean it would have done it before too.
The chip changes the fuel cuve a bit, but nothing that drastic.
was the socket possibly soldered in wrong, or solder touching anywhere?
maybe try the stock chip in there..... or another ecu.
(i'd be interested in the injectors too if you were to sell them)
