Must have been a dodgy link in the chain....the only time I have ever dropped a motor, it was due to an S link opening up...now i only use D-bolts.

Thankfully we didnt do any damage to the engine as there was a pile of sand under the car, and it absorbed the impact nicely, didnt even dent the sump!

was a barrel of laughs cleaning off the sand that had stuck to the oily bits..

but the wagon is other wise looking good tho...

one thing I've noticed after removing the outboard fan to fit an intercooler...is that the car struggles a bit with temps in traffic, and the air con doesnt work as well at idle speed.

Not a massive show stopper, i've been putting up with it for years, but on hot days stuck in traffic it pisses me off, and I keep thinking of ways to fit the second fan back in...

The main issue I find is that the air con system was designed for R12 refrigerant which was a more efficient gas...mine was converted over to R134a a long time ago, when you look at all the R134a cars, the only real difference apart from rubber seals and compressor oil is that the condensers all have a greater effective area.
I have been looking at squeezing in one out of a newer car as soon as I can find on thats the right size with the pipe work in the right spot...

bit off track tho..

so is thing getting a turbo FE3 or F2T ?

PS love the row of speakers magnetically stuck to tside of the shed..I used to do that too
