You have to be careful with that, make sure the rectifier is compatible with a clipped circuit. You may burn up the rectifier since you are in essence either turning it on and off really fast or making it work harder on a reduced voltage. (I can't remember which the factory dimmer does). Mine has a +12 and a separate connector for a dimmer control.
