Differences between the 1genA (88-89) and the 1genB (90-92) PLEASE EVERYONE REPLY

I am compiling a list of differences between the 1genA (1988-1989) and the 1genB (1990-1992) Some differences are minor while some can be pretty big. I will be editing posts so discussion will be moved elsewhere.

Am I the first person to reply to this?

Offhand, i know the 88-89 GT models utilized 310cc injectors, while the 90-92 GTwere upgraded to 330cc. Do i get a cookie?

the biggest and most important differeance (sarcasm) is the grills. 88-89 is honeycomb style while 90-92 is whatever u wanna call that style

Didn't the 90-92 MX6 models also have an additional brace/bar connecting the lower rear suspension together (tie rods I believe). Also there was an additional brace connecting the rear struts together (rear strut bar). I am not sure if all GTs had these or just some. Both, by the way, readily bolt directly onto the earlier models since I have placed both onto my own 89 MX6 GT.

i believe the interior is a bit different like the arm rests and the center console, seats and speaker grills, steering wheel, etc.

90-92
- Bigger side moldings.
- Front bumper cut-outs/scoops are in the moldings rather than under like on 88-89.
- Stock front lip is molded to the bumper on 90-92's.
- Different wheel style and there also polished (Might be wider also)
- Wing is metal instead of foam (so I heard)
- Grills as said before

Anyone want a NICE 1G? :-/

1) I see above my post mx6gt91 mentions that the 90-92 spoilers are metal I don't know if that true or not but my 92 GT spoiler is fiber glass not metal.

2) There is also a slight difference in the design of the little side marker lights(or I should say in the side marker lens covers/reflectors).

3) The interiors ARE NOT the same as someone said. The steering wheel design/style is different 88-89 squarish middle and the 90-92 or at least my 92 has a rounded center and the Mazda badge is unlike the 88-89. Different radios were also iffered in the 90-92's. Surely there are more interior differences as well.

4) ECU's are different as well

Just wanted to note that some differences might be country/regional differences too so it's a bit hard to be 100% accurate on some of the differences.
