blech...my axle is damn near toast. I'm still waiting to get a parts car. what I may end up doing is cutting the clips off, cleaning up the bearing cage and see if there's anything broken...if not, I'll grease them up with some blue marine grease, zip tie the ends of the boot and duct tape the crack in the boot...maybe a temporary fix Wanna help? You have the power of air at your friends place! haha

But an on-topic update:

I finally got my power supply working to ignite the HID's using a PC power supply, so I should be able to show off some cut off pics tonight

Those boots aren't that much alone are they. I thought they were like 12 bucks or something dumb. If your gonna take the time to take stuff apart why go to all the trouble just half ass it. But i've done stupid [shizzle] like that too sometimes cause i'm tired and don't want to get up to go to the auto parts store.

Alright...here are some cutoff pics

Here's the legendary ECE cutoff

notice the decent blue in the cutoff?

Here's the cutoff with the adjustable shield in a flat cutoff

Pic of the projector in the housing!

Pic of the back, showing the Phillips bulb and Bosch AMP connector and ignitor

The halo and sprites of light you see above the cutoff will go away once I get a shroud around the projector housing, so none of the extra light bounces off of the chrome in the headlight housing.

I do still have access to the air tools, as for helping...sure, if I can. Still have to do my rad as well (sitting in a box in my basement right now)

And DAMN, those lights look nice. Count on doing a set for me once you get the process down pat =)

Sweet...you help me with my axle, and I'll help you do your radiator

In fact, I can do it for you...it'll take about all of a half hour. That is, if your coolant is cool enough

not to derail the thread but what can actually happen if an axle goes bad like that. Assuming the bearings don't chew themselves to dust nothing but noise will really happen will it?
