i am aware of this problem, if i dont get enough light out of them, i will get some 10,000k hids since ive been looking at some anyways, and if it still doesnt pan out, its not to hard to pick up a new set of lights from the j/y

Higher numbers don't mean brighter light, if that's what you're getting at. It's a temperature measurement in Kelvin.
HIDs aren't even necessarily brighter than traditional bulbs. If you put them in a non-HID housing, such as your 1g headlights, you'll end up diffusing light everywhere, and blinding everyone around you.

it's been done before, looks-wise it look alright, but yeah you do lose the visibility at nite and you would blind opposing traffic and the guy in front of you.
this is mx6gt91's car btw but he has projectors w/ HID light kit.

Big difference there though...light is actually focused
Its a nice project man, I give you props for doing it -though it may skew your lights a bit, its still a clean look for the 1G's, considering they don't really have much going for them on the exterior. Nothing wrong with spicing up your ride, only thing I would suggest is some 4300k's or 6000k's like Infini said. I've had experience with multiple sets of HIDs, and it also depends on the brand your getting, sometimes 6000k's look like 8000k's and vise versa. Mine are 8000k's and i've got Jspecs, but they look like 6000k's.

Props for what...negating the safety of his lights?
You fail to realize that your jspecs are projectors...we have fluted glass with a chrom box behind it. Turning that piece of chrome to black is just plain dumb and ricey.
my housings had rust in them already because the seal was broken, and it looked like poo, if i cant see at all ill just point my fogs down till i get a new set, not a big deal doods. and i do have ambers in my corners, thanks fo the link i could maybe use that.

You guys are just dicks to somebody who did his own project for fun, its called being an enthusiast, he's not an idiot for doing his own thing to his car. I gave him props for actually doing something himself, even if it doesn't serve a great purpose - its his car, and his look. If it has no reflectors, then well... that sucks for him. and I haven't failed at realizing anything, i'm not an idiot and I know exactly what my headlamps do and what his do, get over the fact that he made his own choice to do a custom job and we didn't. I personally would never blackout my headlamps, stock or Jspec, but for anyone that tries something different, more power to them.
Ricey or not, its not your ride. Hate all you want to yourself, just don't bash to the point where the person doesn't feel confident about the work they've done. Thats just crude.

Every light in my car that i've replaced interior/exterior has all come from that site, i've got superwhite everything, minus my fogs which are some ebay "JDM yellow" bulbs haha. I have 8000k HID's that emit more of a white/blue color, and its a clean look IMO with the superwhite bulbs in the corners. I had amber in the turn signals for a hot minute, then I got the yellow fogs and didn't wanna mesh 3 different colors in the front ya know?

I'm all about DIY, except when it comes to putting themselves or others in danger. When you don't care about those two issues, you become a dbag ricer. When you black out headlights or taillights, you are effing with your safety equipment in a negative manner that can/will affect others.
