will this HKS product work?

http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=632
it says it's for air metered cars? does anyone know? and they had...but not at the moment...the super AFR which is supposed to be for air metered cars as well...it even mentions venting a bypass at the end of the product description of the Super AFR.

also i kow that this has been discussed, but what about the NEW Apex AFC
shown here http://www.apexi-usa.com/electronics_safc.asp

it also mentions air metered cars?

or are both of these only for MAF? not VAF?

We already have a screw for making small adjustments like that. No need to sped $125 on something that might work.

I do believe the S-AFCII will work for our cars, they have a listing for the RX7 TurboII,which has the same style,if not the same VAF.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but the MX6 uses a different voltage, correct?

Dyoel-What is this screw you are speaking of?

You are correct sir, the MX6 VAF runs off of a goofy bassackwards voltage scale. As far as I know, there are no piggybacks which have been able to work on our car.

Although Hydrox has dropped a couple obscure posts regarding the Unichip system, and the "MX6 MISSILE" car featured in Turbo magazine back in the 80's was said to be equipped with the HKS F-CON, I don't think I've seen anybody post solid proof of a working piggyback for us.

The 13b engine and the B series engines share the same VAF signal, but the 13b VAF has larger inlet and oulets, making it a popular upgrade for Miata and Protege people.

Other than looks, and basic function, they have nothing in common with the F series VAF's.

Theres a little plug on the AFM that can be drilled out. Once its drilled out you can adjust the amount of air that the AFM lets in. Some people have used this to cheat boost cut.

I dont have any good pics of it. I have it done though.

Megasquirt is not a piggyback system. It controls all aspect of fuel delivery.

Ignition timing can be ran by it as well, with an optional upgrade, or left on the stock ecu.

I saw an Rx7 today running by MegaSquirt and MegaSpark. Needless to say, I was amazed by its simplicity and with how nice the car seemed to be running.

I plan on building a megasquirt and Megaspark system eventually...not sure what I'll run with it, though I have a few ideas.
