car running hotter than normal, please read, need help from gurus>>>>>
ok, here are my mods. Free flow exhaust to bomz racing muffler, MBC set to 15 psi., zombie chip, msd coil, magnecore wires, walbro 190. I have repaired and replaced many things on my car (88' auto gt) especially the cooling system. I just put a brand new radiator in, replaced both thermosensors on the thermostat housing and the one 1 in the bottom of the radiator, new factory dual stage thermostat, water pump and all cooling sytem hoses fresh coolant. It also has a new head gasket, intake gasket, exhaust mani gasket, timing belt, and plugs (1 stage colder). I am lost on why it is still running what i would call hot. The gauge in the car shows the temp. about 3/4 of the way to the H and i have always heard that it should be about half to a little less, and yes the fan works. If you guys have any suggestions on what I should check or what could be going on it would be great. I basically have replaced the whole cooling system so i'm lost on why it's running so hot. Thanks and i look forward to your insight!
my only thought is that the temp gauge sensor is not working properly but the needle on the gauge does move.
Are you sure that the cooling system is circulating? Sometimes after you fill a radiator the cooling system will develop an air bubble and the water pump won't pump air. Also, what temp is the thermostat supposed to open at?

well when i squeeze the upper radiator hose i feel the coolant rush through the hose. And i am not sure of the opening temp of the thermostat, but it is a dealership purchased piece and it is the dual stage thermostat. it was like $30 bucks at the dealership.
i had the same problem the other day dood...and heres what i found out: right at the end of the top hose of the radiator( the one that takes the coolant out of the radiator) there is an area with like 4 thermosensors (their purpose beats me) there is one really close to the distributor, that will have a squared plug in it (it is also the biggest one).this things rust and melts when the coolant is very old (apparently they are very suseptible to acidity), and they make the temp gauge to go psycho and go up and down and show overheating. try cheking them ASAP, cause it may cuase some other problems in a very short run (i.e. fan engine burning, clogging of hoses, and this happened to me and 3 of them blew up)
