So, you expected it to start detonating and pinging, yet you did it anyway? I find this extremely hard to believe
Either way, show me a stock turbo dyno where the power stays within 10-15% of peak at redline. Same with torque, show me a stock turbo dyno where the torque didnt fall off the earth by 50% between peak and redline. You cant, and you know it. Face it damian, just admit it... You are Anti-RPM
Anyone else with a Tial wastegate have solved the blown out gasket dilemma? Im on my 3rd gasket, the 2nd one the bolts backed out, but i have a feeling even with as tight as i got the ones this time, the gasket will blow
-Eric
just get rid of the gasket,Thats what i did on both my probe and mx6.now the problem is solved.bolt it on without gasket,as long as the surface is flat then you are okay
EGT probe. Great idea for placement too. Cast is a pain to drill through as is, and the placement makes use of a hole that's already ready already!!!!
That seems like a good, logical place to put an EGT on the top near the EGR outlet.
So he drilled all the way thru the threaded post that is there to hold the heatshield? How did he keep from hitting the threads? Did he just use a small drillbit on a drill press? And then he had to use a fitting adapter it looks like from...what is that... a 6 mil id hole? Whered you get a metric adapter?
I personally would have put it on the other one. #1 is the cylinder that always broke on my f2t, as well as my friends KA. it is usually the cylinder furthest from the fuel filter and TB that has problems (same with KL's... always #6 that dies, but thats also furthest from the oil pump)
I was always under the assumption that we were suppose to put the pyro-probe AFTER the turbo....or maybe that's just me

NO! You want the EGT sensor in the exhaust manifold, NOT in the turbo downpipe. You will see as much as a 200 degree difference.
At least that's what Ive been told by all my Beemer and Volvo friends.
So the consensus is put the EGT on/in the LEFT-HAND heat shield mount post?
Hey, considered your blowing gasket problem. Use non and loctite the bolts down. the red stuff is ultra uber strong. The only problem is that it gets ultra hot there and it break when it gets over the 450F mark. If it doesn't itll hold.
Gotta get MegaSquirt on that beast and get it tuned in perfect. If you need/want any help with getting a F2T MS'ed let me know. Other then that, looks awesome, and quite a bit like my setup (just need the larger turbo now :-) ). Nick
