i donno about how much you can port it, but this has been up on ebay for a day or so now, seems like it might be better than a port job, or a fabed up dump pipe. I dont know the size, but ide assume at least 2.5".

i would think you could use a dremel on it, i dont know if you can get and extension to get deeper into there because i dont have one.........i've been wondering the same thing though myself

i wanted to port my 02 housing, and i heard some bad things that it cracks real easy after porting and that it's not worth the extra work........but the damn thing is a bottle neck i'm sure porting it out would help lots if you can do it without compromising the integrity of the pos

I ported a manifold and 02 housing, took out the 5 dimples for the bolts and opened the housing considerably, ported the manifold from one end to the other.
Took almost 60 hours, used flap wheels and sand paper cartriges.
Get a set of ferris porting bits, summit racing sells them cheap.

Jake you seem to be on a quest to find a bigger o2 housing, you could port the turbo side of the housing some, then do as Larken had and cut the O2 housing before it tappers and weld a lager pipe to it (or have the welding done).

Nothing ever cracked, ran the Tbird inthat same housing.

If you could, then you would have a LOT of friends, me included.
$300 is too crazy much for that ghetto chrome thing. Obviously, they are recouping the hours it took designing it... which, btw, I dont like. I dont like that the wategate tube dumps back in at such a 90 degreeish looking angle. And I HATE CHROME. What the hell! Its a frikking o2 housing. I bet the chrome turns blue/black after 30 seconds of running time.

So anyway... are you serious about making or attempting to make 1 or more?

Howd you guess? Just cuz I posted in about 4 related threads, heh...

I already have one with a 2 1/2 pipe Outlaw330r made but he really didnt make it that well. No offense Outlaw but I got what I paid for, heh. Its piecut pipe and there are still weld sticks protruding into the passage, basically its a stock housing that he chopped right about at the taper. He shoulda chopped a little higher. It still forces the waste gate air into the same little area which Im beginning to think is not that big a deal. THe waste gate is not coming open anyway until 14+ PSI boost in my car when Im done with it.. but my biggest issue is the square restriction less than 2" wide. I want to open that up some but how much room is there to port? You said you removed the "dimples" how far out did you go?

i think someone just needs to buy the oversized o2 housing off ebay from that german company, and make copies of it

they only listed it once but it didnt sell, i'm sure they still have it

Except as I said before, I dont their design, because the wastegate tube appears to dump back in too early. I think we'd be better off redesigning one from scratch. Also, I want to make a downpipe to the Cat with a flex pipe.
I see little point in making a better O2 housing if yer gonna squeeze it back < 2" to go into the stock downpipe.

[JOKE] Maybe I should make one that has a little wastegate truck stack that sticks out the hood?[/JOKE]

I think "my" kit would be a better O2 Housing that clears the AC, comes with a downpipe AND a sexy flexy pipe all 3" or as 3" as I can make it. THEN you either buy a reducer to go to your stock cat (for wimps) or you just flange it off there and sell a matching flange and let the customer buy a VRS kit or their own mandrel bends.

IIRC, it looked stock, except it had a seperate tube for the WG, and diameter was increased to 2.5"
