Methanol Injection

Is the best mod I致e ever done. I知 running a 150psi shurflo pump, and a 1mm mister nozzle. I did some experimenting and it seems to like the straight methanol best. I知 not really sure on how much boost I知 running because my gauge only goes up to 20psi. I知 guessing it spikes to around 22, and holds about 19. The wideband shows me running 11.8 on the spike, then drops to the lower 11壮 because the boost drops. Plus I知 running straight 110 octane, so I know I知 safe. Hopefully tomorrow I will get a real boost controller so it wont spike. With the new boost controller, I plan on throwing a few more pounds at it. Hopefully the clutch holds up!

I can稚 wait to get this thing on the dyno.

And for the pictures.

You sure there isn't a better place for that or a better method to securing it other than zipties?

Word lol. I was looking at that, too. It's a cool setup and I can't wait to see some slips. If you can mount that pump somewhere else and secure it a little better, it would be perfect. Keep up the good work!

*Edit* Just think of what could happen if that ziptie gave out and the pump started dragging the ground, sparking... That or bottoming out on it.

I pieced my kit together.
I found the pump laying around in parents garage.
I got my resivor from checker. 2.5quart, and it goes fast!
Hobbs pressure switch from napa.
The nozzles I got from a buddy, I believe they池e from aquamist.
Quick connect fittings from the local hydraulics shop
The tubing I got from the local catco. It痴 used for brakes or shifters or somthing, I believe.
And countless trips to the hardware store for miscellaneous stuff.

The pump is actually bolted in two places. However, it still wanted to rock back and forth while pumping. The zip ties hold it from rocking. Jus at little bit more security, and piece of mind. Thanks for looking out for me though.

Thanks for your 2 cents. Although your post was actully worth jack [shizzle].

Many many cars use water/methanol injection.

I have an idea for intercooler piping that I may try. It involves encasing aluminum intercooler pipes with a larger pipe, say 2" with 2 1/4" surrounding them. You'd block them off completely but still use the inlets and outlets to connect hoses to. You'd install a bung for a water inlet and one for an outlet.

You'd then connect all pipes that you wanted to a box in the trunk with a sump (electric 12V to AC/DC converter) and the water would eventually return to the box. You could fill it with icewater and it would work 10x better than fans on the dyno.

I was kicking the idea around while cleaning the girlfriends filtration system for her Koi pond.

I'm sure you see my pointless point. Point is a majority of intercoolers are worthless on the dyno and fans don't simulate road conditions. I guess butt-dynos are good for sumthin.

If your serious about cooling your intake charge, look into some form of alky injection. The methanol cools the charge like nobody痴 business. After a run, you touch my intake manifold and it will be cool to the touch.

Those AFR's are safe on pump gas. With race gas 12 - 12.5 AFR's are considered safe.

What turbo and what injectors are you running? I was thinking of meth and 550's for me.
