Hehehe I'm not. Thats one of my little problems. I've had a nice big type R sticker in my window sence Feb 06 and I've been pulled over with it before and let go but they could have [fizzle]ed me hard for it. Thats why I need an EGR and a cat really fast. I might have to drive it to the meet with the R sticker. If I do I'm praying I don't get pulled over. But seeing as now my car is loud as all hell I might get [fizzle]ed on my way over there. So I'm hoping I can find a shop close by that I can slip a 20 and they'll look the other way.

I highly doubt your cat is clogged. Even cheaply priced cats have a lifespan over a year. Chances are the shop wanted to make money on selling you one, and keep your old one to sell to a junker for $20-60. Get yourself an Infrared Thermometer and takes the temps both before and after the cat. Or, you could buy a backpressure tester to put where your O2 goes to test backpressure to see if it really is clogged.

Thats a good idea tyler. I'll check that out. I wouldn't be suprised if it's perfectly fine. It's only like a year old.

5psi? What turbo and engine management are you going to use? If it's just the stock turbo and ECU, put it this way- GT owners raise the boost all the time with little or no problems, some without fuel pumps. I've an mine on 20psi for the last two years on nothing but a Walbro 190 and Zombie chip. You'll be doing no worse at 5-15 psi than GT owners at 16+ psi are already doing themselves. Id' be more suspect pf the clutch at this point than the bottom end of the engine. If you're limited on funds, order the $120 special form Exedy at clutchcityonline.com Mines held 2- + p[si for almost 3 years. Finally starting to slip and all I paid was $120.

Have fun with it man. If you're going to turbo it anyways, you're obviously excepting that something may go wrong at some point. So long as you're using the stock turbo, injectors, ECU with chip, and a good pump, throw it up to 12-14 psi and have fun with it. I'd also suggest getting the knock control unit along with the knock sensor as well as the stock boost solenoid. That way if you do overboost and have some knock, you still have somewhat of a safegaurd. You can also raise the boost upwards of 14 psi with the stock boost solenoid. When knock is detected, the ECU starts with the timing but also needs to be able to adjust at the wastegate as well. When you have a boost controller in the way, it's much harder to do so.

3" exhaust will easily give you 10-12 psi on the stock turbo. I got 10 psi consistantly with everything hooked up.

Uh, not to be insulting but were you f***** up when you posted? To me, it was very un-SixSick6 like

I'll also add to Sick's posting:

Throw in some 440's, and a T-Bird, and a T3 and a 25psi, and a Bosch Platinum +4's (you'll need four of them), and a Exedy 6 puck clutch for the LX and uh, return the knock detector and wastegate and you'll be fast on a low budget in no time

Anyywaaays...glad to hear you've got it running...Didn't a few people tell you that your engine may be flooded?

See that changes things Cenatix. STAY AWAY from T3's if all you're going to use is the stock GT ECU. This is a case where your 8.6 pistons will come into play. It's not so much of a big deal with the stock turbo so long as you keep the boost within respectable levels. If you install a T3 and or a T Bird, and all you use the GT ECU, injectors, fuel pump, you WILL start breaking stuff.

Ok, so we all know now that if you install a T3 or T-Bird with a GT ECU, injectors, and fuel pump, you will break stuff. So nobody has "broken stuff" on the stock turbo with larger injectors, larger fuel pump, and chip? That's news to me

No need for larger injectors with the stock turbo. No need for a fuel pump either if you want to get technical. Point is, he'll be fine for more than 5 psi with the stock turbo.

Well I bumped into a little problem. The lines I was using for the oil feed were total [shizzle] so I'm redoing those lines in hard line tomorow. Hopefully my garage wont be cold seeing as it's going to be like low 20s tomorrow. Either way I need to get it done. I really don't wanna miss the meet. So I got a fair amount of stuff to get done really fast. Hopefully all will go well and I can get in done tomorrow.
