SAAB T3 Turbo.

hey, just a quick question

I've got my new manifold and external wastegate setup, and I just want to know if the Saab T3 has the same flange on the exhaust side of the turbo where you would attach your downpipe as I am saving my pennies for a newer garret and just need something to make my car work for Meet of the Mazdas in august and don't want to have to modify my exhaust AGAIN when I get my permanent turbo.

only reason i'm wondering about the saab one is I can pick them up from the wrecker for pretty much nothing, if that flange is different is there a volvo etc that would have a regular T3?

any help is appreciated. thanks so much

to run any t3 turbo to your stock downpipe, you will atleast have to custom make an o2 housing. the turbine housings are a different style

thanks man, but thats not what I am asking. I am well aware the ihi series turbos don't bolt up the same as a t3 in the least.

all i'd like to know is if Saab T3's have the same flange type as regular T3's when it comes to the exhaust outlet.

yeah, if its a 5 bolt. make sure its not a t25 youre looking at, as those are not the same as t3's.

be aware that some of the SAAB T3's have the exhaust inlet flange rotated 90degrees. Some of the 80's 900 series turbo's are this orientation.

The exhaust inlet is a snail, it doesn't rotate.

If you mean the exhaust OUTLET is in the same direction as the INLET flange, then ok. I know what style you are referring to.That elbow unbolts, and you can buy a 3 bolt flange that bolts in its place so you can weld up whatever bends you want to it. This is what we did with zlyricists car. He has a flapper housing of that design.

Not the snail itself, but the flange on top. I will try to find a picture for you.

I have only seen one and it was in the wreckers. I'm struggling to find a pic of it.
