I understand for a project and because you want to. I'd rather see a 13b go into an MX. a few guys in NZ have fitted 13b's into front wheel drive 323's and kept them fwd.
primary reason is that i'm getting an rx7 shell. no motor. just the driveline.

other reason is with the tbird and high boost u start to battle the "traction" demon with fwd and have 2 options. Weld the diff, or get a LSD. both of which are costly in their own ways.

with RWD traction will be a non issue when the suspension is done right. and the LSD on the rx7 is rebuildable and won't ruin the transmission if it fails. i'll also be able to use the torque to my advantage in the twisties, and the rx7 is much lighter than the mx6.

Karma to you for giving it a go. Keep in mind the height of the F2 in comparison to the 13B. You may have issues with the bonnet closing.

hood style in the works. thinking some sort of cowl or maybe just a vented style where the timing pully sticks out and looks like a tiny supercharger

or use boost control to shape your torque curve artificially to keep it flat, make more power and less peaky torque :-)

They don't fail, they just wear out and become somewhat "open"

you should put an extra clutch pack in each side before you use it ;-)

The vented style gets my vote!!!!

And good for you btw!!
I love the F2T's, and love seeing them placed in places they don't belong!
And I'd love to go for a ride in that rx7 with that torque curve, that'll be fun as hell to drive!~

I'm probably gonna turbo the Sportage I'm fixing up, and, if anything happens to that, an F2T is going to take its place

(ok, all the fe3 lovers start bashing.....................NOW)

BASH!!!!

There is a reason that you don't want to do that... once you turbo the fe3 it will become very obvious to you :-)

You will definitely have clearance issues with the bonnet, this is an FE bolted up to the standard rx7 box, in a series 5. Its not mounted in the bay, the sump is sitting on the steering rack. The bonnet still doesn't shut, and the motor sticks out the hole. And i think the F2T is slightly taller than an FE?

Your just gonna need to cut a nice big hole!

The block is taller, but the head might be a little shorter I *think*.

AND, why aren't those pics in a thread in the fe3 section????? :-p

Jeez man, we are all keen to see lotsa detailed pics of that thing. And of course for you to finish it too! :-)
