Talking Progress...and what it looks like

So...tonight I finished putting together my replacement head, and I decided to do a "mock up" of my new exhaust housing, downpipe and T3/T4 57 trim hybrid. Enjoy

Doesn't it just SCREAM over-doing it?

Needless to say, I'm in a pretty ecstatic mood right now. The turbo isn't going to be going installed until later this spring (late April maybe?), but the head's going on this week/weekend.

You got a wheel barrel full of money?

I'm also not sure if it's a JGS kit...I don't believe so...but I like it. It's not 'pretty' like a ram horn, but it'll do the job just fine. I also love the 2.5" downpipe that clears the A/C

Possibly...if my 'math' is correct...I should be able boost 11psi (1.8 Pr) without any additional help with fuel. I don't plan to boost this monster passed that until I get squirted. Also, spool shouldn't be too much of an issue. The insides are going to house a T3 Stage III turbine, mated with the .63 A/R housing, so I should see full boost about 3.5k rpms in third gear.

well on my setup, i was able to run 15 psi before leaning out with the stock intercooler setup.

i put on my fmic and piping, dsm bpv, and i would lean out hard at 11 psi. and my turbo was smaller than yours. def get a wideband

Interesting...sounds like your not stock FMIC wasn't doing it's job correctly, or your air charge was getting heated up post-intercooler.

I'm currently polishing up a stock intercooler (basically getting off the black paint on it) and will be installing that at the same time. I'm also going to be sticking with the stock pipe size for now. I might graduate up to 2" piping all around, but 1 7/8" should do just fine for now

Are you gonna be able to take out the spark plugs for 2 & 3 easily? Or will it be a tight squeeze?

Also, where are you gonna place the wastegate?

Lookin good BTW.

The d/p flange has a flap for an actuator. Internally wastagated

I still think the best part of that setup is the bung for the O2 OEM sensor. Not having a CEL ftw

Yes, internally gated, and if the need arrises to change spark plugs, I can just unbolt the exhaust manifold and slide it forward a little bit, or I can have those pieces of the flange cut down, which I was thinking of doing.

Exactly...but I was going to ask, what did YOU do about the EGR? I was thinking of capping the pipe with a nickel/quarter and hoping I don't get a CEL.

Nice, I took a second look and just noticed it.

Cut the pipe a few inches from where it connects to the IM, pinch and weld it shut. Not too sure what to do about the CEL. But when you go squirted you wont have to worry about it.

I took the pipe out all the way, like, unscrewed it from the IM. Then went to the local home depot or w/e place you can buy a bolt, and looked for an end cap bolt. It screws right in, and with a little loc-tite, is as good as new. As for the egr, you will get the CEL I guess, unless you take the whole system out, i.e EGR valve, solenoid, and cap the vacuums.

I'll try and find the plub bolt Im talking about. I dont think my description was clear enough...
