Tranny Question?

I need a tranny for my turbo 626 just wondering what trannys I can use like do the non turbo trannys work, and the mx6 and probe trannys as well... also do certain ones have shorter gear ratios.... thanks Nick

all are the same, except the non turbo ones. they will bolt on, but are weaker.

89 GT 4WS/Megasquirt/FE3/Needs harnesses and fluids.

are the gear ratios the same.... I guess I better not use a non turbo if I broke a turbo one lol thanks for the help

i think so. also to use a non turbo one, or an auto tranny, i think you have to switch hubs/axels.

but all mx6/626/probe turbos with a mtx were the same.

I hope not cause I think I might just throw a non turbo in it does anyone know for sure if I have to change the axles

yes...the axles/hubs differ between turbo and nonturbo

1991 lxt

they shouldn't physically fit into the transmission. the turbo ones are bigger IIRC

the non turbo trans are all the same. the auto are different from NA to turbo and the turbo transis different. the axles are different on the manuals from turbo to NA, same as the hubs and knuckles. i have heard that the autos have the same axles but im not really sure. the 2 manaual trans are not interchangable and also the flywheel and clutch r bigger in the turbo.

91 626 DX, 89 F2T swapped, probinator chipped ecu, 2.5 inch exhaust and downpipe, zebel housing, 10 psi, mazdaspeed FSTB, blaster2 coil, pacesetter sts, rstb and lower tie bar, suby calipers, rear disc brakes, PGT rear swaybar, eibach springs, MSD 6A

alright so basically if I just wanna drop a tranny in this thing I want a turbo one otherwise its gonna be a headache
