i have a 91 626 lx 2.2L F2 I4 manual, and one of my buddies gave me the turbo, exhaust manifold, intercooler from a 91 mx-6 turbo. What do i need to complete the install? any known issues?
Alot really, your going to need a turbo ecu, distributor, engine wiring harness, all the intercooler hoses and boots, fuel injectors, spindles and hubs and also the very importantly a turbo manual trans. There's a how to at the top of the forced induction forum on how to do the conversion and what you need.

No you dont, here we go again, he not turning is car to GT, justr wanna turbo is n/a
to the original posted, do what i did, bolt on the turbo kit from the gt, run the return to the oilpan, and just use fmu for fuel .you can use a 12-1 fmu or 10-1 fmu if you running lx injector and wastegate 7psi spring. thats all you need . use your original n/a ecu and everything, and you dont have to worry about fuel cut.

what can i expect the overall cost to be... i dont care about power really.. i just want it to go pssshh haha.. i need it to still be reliable and get good mpg. i have a 08" GSXR750 to go fast
Actualy going by the thread title he is :P But going by his list of parts he's a long way off from a true GT.
Theres a lot of benefit to using all the OE GT parts but then you might as well buy a GT if you can, a conversion dosnt make a lot of sense usualy except that it allows you to do a lot of PM without the extra labor.
Despite the many differences between the GT cars and the N/A cars theres no reason to believe the N/A drive train isnt capable of holding up to even a relatively strong buildup.
I doubt you'll shear the N/A halfshafts with their lower spline count and the G type trans isnt so fragile that it's a must.

cool..
Hey Ademan!!
can you hook me up with a, complete parts list and guestimate the cost??

thanks
since you already have the turbo, manifold and intercooler and pipes, all you will need is oil line $20 ON EBAY and home depot fitting $2,this will ne welded to the oil pan for return
then get a fmu $50.
thats all you need, assumming you are using the bypass valve from gt or some kinda blow off valve. easy setup, i did the same with t3/t4, gt injector and fmu and can you say fast
dude, do you know how long i have been racing my car and launching on 87 shot to 100+ shot nitrous. the n/a tranny to me is no weaker than the gt tranny, these motor and tranny survive every wed test and tune and still runs great,
just for you
this is my 13.7 runs with 4krpm launch
yeah but the stock turbo also has an extreme torque spike.
Whatever he does is fine. I dont care. All i know is that the GT tranny was built stronger for a reason. If he wants to run the lx tranny and it lasts for 21 years without breaking....awesome, good for him.
ok so just to clarify.. this is my beater car, it gets me to work and back and those late nights driving home "sober" haha
anyways it has 250k on it... all bolt ons have been replaced and car has mostly freeway miles. i bought from a friends dad, he was the original owner.
so.. i am hesitant to spend any kind of major money on this. i got the turbo and manifold given to me, i just want to make the car go pssh thats it, so its gunna need to spool up quick because the car has never seen past 4krpm since iv had it and im damn sure my friends dad wasnt racing it lol. but i deffinately prefer reliablity over performance so downtuning the turbo doesnt bother me...
questions:
BOV for pssh effect? i had a HKS super sequintial on my STi, it sounded ok, i preffer not as much wistling...
should i do a rebuild on the motor? how much are kits?
what about exhaust? downpipe?
whats the FMU?
how bad is it gunna screw my mpg? i get 350miles to a tank average.
and id like to get it a little lower, but when im rolling five deep i dont want it to rub...cut springs? cut springs w/stiffer struts?
and if there is anything else that doesnt cost any green that would be cool or in my interest to do.. im open to ideas.. i was thinking about building a rally light bar and bolting it to the roof with some off road lights. you never know when they might come in handy.
thanks guys!
ps.. there is this railroad crossing in my area that is some what "elavated" if you catch my drift.. anyways i hit it goin about 60ish..great hangtime and she took it like a champ.. i love this car!! i call it the six deuce..lmao
