Biggest reason is there is no real room for it with such a low sitting hood. Its possible, But would be Alot more work then it is for most other cars which have alot more room.
You are high on crack. There is plenty of room. Look at sidewinders for the S2000 as well. Biggest reason is simply that nobody has done it. I wonder why. There is plenty of room. Look at all the n00bs putting Deltagates on TOP for the stock manifold. No room my ass.
lol.... no one has done it since no one is then in depth with their builds.... im currently having a front facing mani made for my f2t probe.... each mani set up has its pros and cons just depends whos building the car, turbo selection ect..
It would depends on the turbo being used. Most people go top mount due to lack of space. I don't think anyone is running a big enough turbo to warrant running a top mount manifold.
Cam22T went top mount on FE3 due to wanting to keep AC, PS and run his 3076R. A fwe of the guys up here also run top mounts on FE3 for the same reason.

I made a side mounted manifold, not necessarily top mount, since it relocate the turbo behind the passenger headlight. so i just go directly in the intercooler instead of running a pipe across

Bisi is making 750+ hp with a SOHC 1.6L engine. You can't say that this picture is much different from the 2.2L SOHC in the engine bay. Use a smaller radiator with a slimline fan, GURU differential, a good clutch with flywheel, megasquirt, and we could have been seeing 500+ hp 1G's YEARS AGO.
passenger side wheel - [x-rad/fan O-turbo Z-I/C] -drivers wheel
The intercooler could go from turbo to I/C with an intercooler designed like stock, out the bottom and directly to the throttle body using the above picture.
A Honda head (even SOHC) will easily outflow the F2's head. Honda land is unfair.

I'm no n00b
sohc honda head will not outflow f2 head without work, thats a fact. Ive own couple of hondas bseries turbo and na. however the solid lifter does have an advantage over the hydra lifter when making power above 5k rpm

Actually the 4 valve per cylinder Honda SOHC heads should outflow our 3 valve per cylinder head on the exhaust side.
But they probably have an even milder exhaust cam profile than ours to keep the gas velocity up.
why havent many/any of you made them over the years? i don't weld.
Why haven't you built one?
Gavin doesn't weld but he's managed to build some pretty trick custom one off shiz.
Form Follows Function. If it doesn't work, get it the f--- out. A RaceCar Named Carmen
