after almost 2 years of owning my car, i finally was able to get what i've always wanted. i bought it straight from mazda, with my discount from mazda i got it for 40$ cheaper. came out to be 108$ total with tax and all. plus its the Binder style, wich i get to take pages out from it. i dont have to read flyswat's/sleepcounter's/ and sixsick6's SMART advice anymore now.

Definitely a good thing to have. If you're sick of your chilton's/haynes and it's vagueness trying to cover 10 different cars, the mazda workshop manual is for you - it covers only one year and model (mx6/626) of car and is very detailed and accurate.
I have one of these sitting right next to me - I picked it up on ebay WITH the wiring diagram for less than $50 a few years back. There is also a more compact workshop manual in paperback form that includes the wiring diagrams and sells for less.
I'd recommend trying to track down the wiring diagram book as well - the workshop manual pictured above does not include any wiring diagrams. Someone posted a while ago that you can actually by that manual without the fancy binder for a good deal less.
It's the book the dealer mechanics look at when they need to work on your car and don't know where to start. It contains step-by-step info on how to remove, dissasemble, and replace nearly everything on the car, and is specific to a certain model year (i.e. 1988, 1989, 1990,1991, 1992) so it is extremely accurate unlike Chilton's, Haynes who try to cover 1983-1996 mx6/626/929/323/protege/millenia all in one book.
as magik said, the wiring diagram isnt included, BUT as for the compact book being cheaper is faulse, it was 20$ more than the binder one, plus when i orderd this manual, it didnt say it came with the binder. said no binder, but my freind at mazda hooked it up.

My workshop manual is a large yellow paperback for the 1988 626 and MX-6 that's a 1991 reprint. It has the wiring diagrams section. I got it on eBay for less than $30, and was in practically new condition (no oil, no tears, no loose binding).... now it's oily and in three pieces. Good thing I work at a library. When I remember I can just take it in and have them mend it, lol.
