I was at the junk yard today and there was an 86 tubo coupe. Was it miss labled or is the turbo the wrong one?

oh no...them 626GT's are hot...i had a gold one years ago....not as quick as the MX6GT....but just as fun

Kinda funny too...pretty much same options as the MX6, like AAS, just with the nasty 626 front end...

Just dropped in 2G mx6 aftermarket coil-overs into my 1G telstar, essentially a mx6. Drop is about 3 inches, handling much better. I'm still using 1G struts, just the coil-overs are new. Stock springs at the moment, going to upgrade them.

NOTE: had to grind down the sill on the strut so the coil-over would slide over it. Once this was done, was a nice, snug fit. Drop could be more if I wasn't riding on bump-stops (which are cut in half anyway). No way to avoid this without raising it or seriously modifying struts....

Are the fuel tanks in the MX-6, 626 and Probe interchangable?
-The tanks in the GTs and N/As do not differ. A GT tank would fit into a N/A Mazda/Ford.

Yes. Heres some pics for proof from a fuel tank book at work.

Showing capacities of both tanks.

update on the springs...

I have about 8,000 miles on them now and still no camber issues, no fitmetn issues, etc. The springs haven't moved (2nd gen rear springs on 1st gen struts). They are the dropzone springs from the 2nd gen's. No probs whatsoever. Stiffer than stock though.

been a while since any updates here but i found one i believe to be worth it.

What: Ignition Coil Holder (canister style) and rubber boot
Donor Car: 88 Audi 5000 (idk what years used this style. this is the one i took it off of)
Modification required: some drilling and finding a place to mount it. the boost just slides over the whole canister to cover the positive/negative terminals
Why: For those upgrading to a performance coil (msd blaster 2, accel, crane, etc.)

door hinges off a 90 protege fit on my 89gt. The top driver side was bad so i took the top passenger side off a protege (more common and cheaper) and its the same as the lower driver side.

Anyone ever try and find a larger capacity oil filter that would screw onto the oil filter thread stub? Needs to have a gasket that 'lands' the same as the OEM oil filter, but there should be no reason why a larger capacity filter shouldn't work.
