broken cat studs

I was trying to install an exhaust on my 90 and broke off both cat studs. I figure I could pull the cat and drill out the studs but that would take a lot of time and I don't have a drill. I could also get a shop to weld the cat to the intermediate pipe. This sounds ok. Does anybody know what it would cost? Are there any other options?

You could try and find a new "Catco" hi-flow cat converter ... they aren't expensive at all (about $60-70). Other users have said that they had them at their local parts stores....
