PROJECT: 626 hatchback, FE-DOHC (turbo), 1990, LOTS OF PICS

Hello,
I think it's time for me to start a project thread here now

I would like to start with giving a big thank you to everyone that have helped me a lot (I think there will be more ):
  • You-Ask
  • Dutch
  • Gavin
  • wezel
  • fredio54
IMPORTANT! The order in the above list is not important, I'm as greatful to every bit of help

Index for the complete project so far (Index for my 626 FE3-T, MS2 project (POST IN MY PROJECT THREAD))

The project car is a Mazda 626 hatchback from 1990 with the FE3 engine.
I got this car from my grandparents on my fathers side and it's in very good condition. They have kept it in a
garage and taken good care of it.

This is my second car. My first car (still driving it) is a 626 coupe from 1984 with a FE-carby. engine.
So I'm not completly lost when it comes to cars, but there are a few things that are new to me:
About the car:
  • ECU (standalone, MS2 in this case)
  • Turbo
To get the car in the shape I want:
  • Welding
  • Painting with a paint-gun
The engine will remain un-opend this year and I will concentrate on the body, suspension and a little bit of audio
Currently the engine have about 200Hp when I have configured the MS2 good.

Engine:
  • Un-opend
  • Mitsubishi TD04-15T @ 0.4Bar
  • Denso 180lph fuelpump [not installed]
  • Denso 440cc injectors
ECU:
  • MegaSquirt 2 PCB v3.0 controlling the fuel only for now
  • Innovate LC-1
Drivetrain:
  • untouched...
Brakes:
  • Braided Stainless steel lines [not installed]
  • more to come...
Suspension - Rear:
  • AWR trailing links [not installed]
  • Addco 7/8" swaybar [not installed]
  • SuperPro poly bushings [not installed]
  • MX6 GT tiebar [not installed]
  • MX6 GT RSTB [I have not bought this yet]
  • more to come...
Suspension - Front:
  • SuperPro poly bushings [not installed]
  • Addco 1" swaybar [not installed]
  • Dutch FSTB [not installed]
  • more to come...
2006-08-11 - Some pictures of the car when I first got it (tinted the windows in my grandparents garage the first day):

2006-08-14 - When I got it home I had to clean the enginge bay

Subscribed... this sounds like a wicked project and it's already looking damn good. Keep it up, especially since Elanzer's slowed up on his 626 hatch build

Moderator - one who arbitrates
Dictator - one ruling absolutely and often oppressively
Contrary to popular belief, these are not the same things...
