So i need some help with finding a fuel pump for a 91 MX6 non turbo ( feel free to move this thread if not in the right spot ) and i need the whole thing in working order. Please shoot me a pm or email if you can help me out here.
But anyways on another note HI all! my name is Christopher and i just recently purchused a 91 White mazda MX-6 LS in Very good condition from my boss for $150 bucks with clean title. ( I will try to have some pic's up soon or you all! ) He told me that after 165,*** miles it just died on him and would'nt start up anymore. He didnt want to mess with it as he doesnt know jack about car's and was trying to be all " Big Baller " with me and said " You can have it for 150 just get it off my yard already." So i was like " OK " and so the first thing i did was check the oil for metal shaveing or anything out of the ordinary and it was good so then i sprayed starter fliud in the TB and had someone start it at the same time and BAM it started right up. No knocking no smokeing ( even though it had been sitting tight for 2 years ) so i was like all " BOOYA!!! " so then i knew it was a fuel problem. I located the fuel pump as to which i already knew that most 90 and above car's have it under the back seat and spent like 30 min's trying to get the bottom seat out because i couldnt see the damn release buttons under it and took out the fuel pump and OLD ass gas filled the car and my nose and after the dizzyness left me i saw the worst looking rusted looking fuel pump i have ever seen in my life! So i was all like " Well there's your problem " and continued to take the gas tank down and off the car looked inside there and was just as bad. ( whew my hands are cramping from typing ) anyway i already ebay'd me a new gas tank for a $104 and now am looking for ( see top of post ^^^).
I am also looking for a turbo setup but just really looking to know what i can and cant do with this fine looking car that i have here. It's a 5spd so it really make's me want to just Turbo it and be done.
I am here for more friend's and good advice from you all so thanks for haveing me here!!!! I WILL GET MY PIC"S OF MY MX6 UP ASAP!!!
You should find plenty of information for your car here.
1) Is your car a 1991 Mazda MX6 LX? There is no MX6 LS for this year.
2) In order to turbo the engine you will need a lot of parts from the MX6 GT Turbo. You would be better off buying a MX6 GT Turbo. Now if you like the challenge, we can help you.
Just so you know ... I have a NA engine and instead of trying to Turbo it, I just decided to put the whole GT Turbo engine + ECU (Less Hassle in my opinion).
Peace

You should be able to get the fuel pump at almost any auto parts store. Look around online. I would suggest replacing the fuel filter too. It is located under the hood mounted to the driver's side strut tower.

willl this one fit my car? lol Like i said too im new to the mazda game (LS lol) so im not sure if its a 88 or 91 but i know like most car's some part's share threw out the gen's. Can some one shine some light on this fuel pump for me. If it fit's i will buy it right now.
i just recently did a turbo swap into my lx and the car is running perfect. If you need help on what parts you should get or what to do let me know. I'm glad your car is a 5 speed because its 47586843 times to turbo than the automatic tranny. In the automatic there is a crazy amount of wires splicing and stuff you have to do.
if your up for a drive i have a parts car that I've been cannibalizing and I wouldn't mind you taking a fuel pump off of. And wile you are there I can show you my gt May be you can help me figure out whats wrong with it.
It is incredibly easy to swamp just the pump. remove the assembly, clip on 2 hoses, connect a couple wires and a bolt.
Not always and all pumps for all years are not created equally- speaking of the wiring of course. And example would be my stock fuel pump where there were four leads (8 wires) coming out of the top of the pump where other years only had two wires.
You need to figure out what year you have (check the door) and pull the seat to visually inspect the pump.

That would be cool. Im in San Antonio TX live by Walzem Rd. Yea i wouldnt mind the drive (depending on how for it is) becuase my Legend only like super unleaded and that can be a bit pricey. And taking a look at your car would be fun for me. I like messing around with car's. Been doing it since i was 12. So where you at in TX?

Yea i know it not that it is hard but my fuel pump assyembly is all rusted and crappy looking. So id just rather have a whole new one or way better condition one then change the pump and strianer only and still have a rusted corroaded assyembly. Know what i mean?
So can anyone tell me if i should buy this fuel pump or not? i really need to get this car moving before my wife start's collage in augest and starts driving around my Legend full time.
NVM i bought it anyway i figured that the Auction said it was for an 88 mx6 and there are no other first gen's be4 88 so i put 2 and 2 together....anyways thanks for the help and stuff. Cant wait to get this baby in my car and get it going already!
