Grin Guess who is about to buy a 1990 626 GT 5 door?

ME! tee-hee! I'll see how soon I can post some pix. It's a 626 GT. Turbo. And it only has 134k miles. It's in pretty decent shape. 5 speed. No sun roof. Darn. It isn't *perfect* but it is in pretty good shape. No AAS.
but it has....

OSCILLATING AIR VENTS! YES!

EVerything works. It needs a new windshield. And it could use a fresh timing belt/water pump.

BUT, it's only $750.

My wife finally agreed we'd found a replacement for the Toyota Crapolla.

Muahahahaha!!!!

Oh, and I got a 30 day unlimited car fax thing, so if anyone needs any Carfax things checked, just let me know, and I'll help them out as best I can.

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH!!!!!

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh, and the turbo is .... so nice...

finally.
after all these years..

HA!

Heh, I can tell you're used to your old "bare bones" DX. The DX was the only one that *didn't* have the oscillating vents.

Yeah post a pic so we can see what you bought. I have always had a thing for the five door. I might be getting rid of both my cars and getting a cheap 5 door if i could ever find one without rust.

Good buy!

It is nice to see a few people left. I'll post some pictures on this thread over the weekend. The car was a little sketch - it has a reconstructed title. But, after a very careful inspection, it is obvious that it was rear-ended. The rear mud flaps are gone, the bumper isn't *perfect* (but pretty good), and the rear light lenses are wrong-- you can see that they are not original -- "Stanley" in raised letters. Very strange.

BUT, the engine is great. The TURBO is awesome. I've never driven a turbo gasser before. Turbo diesels sure - but that is a whole different world. As 2700-3000 rpm comes up, all of a sudden- WARP DRIVE! Very reminiscent of my wife's best friend's Mazda 6. Her Mazda 6 has the 6 cylinder - hit 3300 rpm - and time distorts, but even that doesn't compare to the sinking feeling you get when the turbo kicks in, and seats grip you.

The struts(springs ok) are shot. The windshield is cracked. The idle is rough, somewhat low, like 500 rpm. The previous owner didn't replace the timing belt at 120k miles. It's got 134k miles now... but... it was $750. No rust. Everything works. All electric is fine. Power windows are a little slow, but fine. Power mirrors are slow, but work. Alloy wheels are perfect. Newish Tires. The previous owner re-did the brakes last year, and put a new exhaust on it. Oh, and NO HLA TICKING.

So I'll spend some money getting it fixed. Windshields are cheap and easy. I'll pay to get the struts redone, there are too many speed bumps in Vancouver WA to even *think* about lowering this car.

Of course, the timing just isn't quite right to think about that torsen bulk buy. Darn it. And I missed that ebay auction for the FSTB and RSTB... I think I sold those to the guy in Wiscosin... it would have been hilarious to buy them back.

Right. I gotta get new title, plates, and emissions done, then I'll sell this corolla and get back to buying a new home! Wheee!!!!

Stanley in raised letters... dude, sounds like you've got JDM tails y0! Mine have that lettering too

I'm glad you're happy with it mate. Sounds like a helluva deal! One day when I need a little more seating room I'll probably move from the MX6 to a Capella Cargo 7-seater, perhaps with an FE-DOHC and 4WD

As it is, the C2 GT-R basically replaced my Corolla Levin replica *chuckle*
