Wideband owners... afr question?

So I'm just curious as to what everyone else's reading are, tos ee if mine are normal...

At idle, if the car is cold, it reads 18:1.... if it's warm, it's around 16.5-17.1...

Is it supposed to be that lean at idle? I'm familiar as to what its supposed to be under cruise and boost, but never really looked into what its supposed to be at idle...

I know the gauge is right, because my other readings are normal:
On cruise on the freeway, I'm an even 14.8-14.9...
and under boost, its a nice 11.5-1, and dips to 10:1 at 9PSI...

just a tad rich and lean. i do 16.5 under idle/cruise, 11.5 everywhere else. warmup is like 15 idle. also i have ms so i guess my cars readings dont mean [shizzle].

Well now that I have my trusty wideband installed, I'm going to test out both the Zombie and AdamTurbo chips and see what the real difference is...

your a/f at idle seems high mine stays around 14.6-15.4 idle/cruise then under boost it dumps in fuel lol.

i want ms :P so i can get your idle readings and save gas lol

Maybe I need new plugs. I pulled one and they look pretty white. Plug wires are a little old also...

defiler, those readings are fine...if you were richer at idle/cruise you would be wasting gas...that's not a good thing.

you shouldnt notice a difference with idle and cruise between the two chips if all your sensors and ecu calc's are doing there job. the only difference you will see is at WOT

your idle a/f ratios are way lean, mine was always consistent with my cruise ratios

Could lean at idle = small air leak? or would the o2 correction fix that??

Duh! LOL, cruising at 85mph uses quite a bit of power = quite a bit of load = needs 12.5AFR :-)

What kpa are you at at 85mph?? ie, how far in boost or vacuum?

Whats the bet its like 2psi or 0psi or something similar? Pretty good i'd say.

Fred.

I guess it only counts if it is hooked up and in use.

My wideband is always running in my car. idle lately is much leaner than it used to be 15-16 area now (14 bang on before)... crusing anywhere from 13.5-15 and wot goes to 9.5 and creeps back up to 11 and stays there.

I leaned out and melted a piston last fall so now i run the wideband all the time. Its shown me when to get off the throttle a few times now. Well worth the $350 id say.
