Clutch/PP compatibility?

So I know from searching and reading that the LX and GT clutches (GT and GL in Probeland) are not the same, nor is the tranny or flywheel, but here;s my qyestion:

I have a Probe GT (MX6 GT, whatever). I need a clutch for it. Probably a pressure plate while Im at it. I have a box of parts from a good Probe LX (Vulcan 3.0L V6), which includes a clutch and pressure plate/.

Does anyone know if the clutch and PP would be compatible? I know the PLX and GT transmissions are supposed to be identical inside with different bellhousings, but I just want someone to confirm that these will interchange so I dont end up ordering a new clutch for it tomorrow. Or will I need the flywheel also from the PLX in order to make the clutch/PP work?

Well I answered my own question today.

The LX clutch will indeed fit, but Im not sure if it has the same clamping force or torque rating as the GT one. The LX pressure plate is slightly different and probably wont work.

Isn't there a physical size difference between the GT and LX clutch/PP, somewhere along the lines of 225mm vs 240mm?

I don't know what the set load is but in my 91 probe wsm it say the set load is
N(kg lb) 6180(630,1386) for the turbo
N(kg lb) 5494(560,1232) 3.0 efi

don't know if it help.

According to my wsm the clutch disc O.D. 240mm and I.D. 160mm for both the 3.0 and 2.2 turbo.

Same spline count and size to.

Yup. The clutch thickness, along with the physical diameter and spline count, was identical between the 2.

I just ended up using the older clutch from my old GT because it as in almost the same condition as the LX one, and I knew it would have the correct clamping force. Well, that and the fact that I needed a new flywheel and pressure plate too, so I just used the whole GT assembly since it was all balancd together...

Since we're on the topic of clutch compatibility, I've often wondered what it would take to machine a 280ZX-T clutch and get it fit in our cars...or possibly an RX7, since both clutch diameters are 240mm. There are tons more options when it comes to those two cars.

I may have to take this information According to my wsm the clutch disc O.D. 240mm and I.D. 160mm for both the 3.0 and 2.2 turbo. and see what I can come up with
