Damn exhaust manifold wont come out.

I need to remove the exhaust manifold so i can repair the stripped threads but the four bolts under the manifold connecting it to the turbo wont budge, iv tried hitting the spanner with a hammer hard but nothing seems to budge. And its a very confined space so am unable to get any breaker bars in. Any ideas? I must have this done by tomorrow after work so can i please have quick detailed replies? Thanks alot in advance.

I would soak them with PB Blaster, and instead of a breaker bar, I would interlace two combo-wrenches and use as a breaker bar

you should remove the entire turbo assembly ( mani turbo & o2 housing) as one unit & disassemble it out of the car....the way you're doing it, is gonna take way longer & is virtually impossible

If u remove the hole assembly don't forget the mount bolted to the bottom of the turbo.Took me 40 min to realize thats why it wouldn't come off.

yeah u should always pull out manifold+turbo out as one. disconnect the DP from the O2 housing, unbolt the support bracket from the bottom of the turbo.

soak the manifold bolts with pb blaster or just use some freeze off. remove the radiator if you havent yet. that's goign to cause some problems if u leave it in there especially if u dont have a firm grip on the assembly. last thign u want is to yank the manifold off and have it put a giant dent in ur radiator.

Don't use the 3/8 inch drive rachet use the 1/2 on the exhaust manifold and also on the down pipe and put some pb blaster.
