alright i have been wondering how i would go about making my own door panels?
i want to do this cause that little "arm rest" pisses me off i hit my elbow on it when doing quick maneuvers... i would like to remove them or at least make them smaller.
i would also love to run some component speakers in the door with tweeters in the ?sills? i think thats what they are called...
i am wondering how i could go about this. also what material would be best? i dont want fiberglass since that crap is heavy. i want lightweight material...
i know somebody is gonna say just get rid of them but i want to keep the car interior it is a dd.

get original ones and start modding/molding how and where you want everything then put some carpet or what ever over it to cover any imperfections and your done.
that's how most are done.

Manual window versions had flat doorpanels with small rests on the separate handles, though evidently sourcing a set in the states might prove a bit tricky.

looby i think unfortunately your going to have to fiber glass it.
If you were to cut a few sections off and just fiberglass and bondo it i don't think it would be that much heavier. I wouldn't put like 5 layers on it or anything wild.
maybe put some thick cardboard in the sections you take out and fiber glass over it. It will fill in the gap and you won't have to use a lot of glass.
