Question 1988 mx6 died

I was drivin my car and all of a sudden died. I am a diesel mechanic and have suitable knowledge of cars. have checked all the usual things likethe timing belt, fuel pump and if the car is getting spark.Have been working at it all day and it did try to start a couple of times and did start once but than bogged down and died again, and now wont even try to start. the car ran excellent before this it only has 120k on it.and hand plenty of power and was really fun to drive. If you guys can give me any suggestions it would be appreciate it.thank you.

Have you checked the coil? I had to replace mine when the car had about 120,000 miles on it.

i'm leaning towards possible bad pump or FPR. I've seen some bad fuel filters but i yet to see one cause a car not to run. I'd check that fuel pressure and see if its around 40psi.

just checked the fuel pump and the pressure is 50lbs. cant find anywhere where it says what it should be.I have a Chilton manual and it does state 64-85lbs for a 1988 RX-7 witch uses the same pump.I am figuring that it is bad, but i could be wrong.some one stated that it should be above 40lbs
