Need Help Asap! (with main crank seal)

I am trying to replace my front main crank seal but I cant get my crank shaft gear bolt off, I have tried everything but nothing works and I couldnt fing any type of write ups ttp explain how to do it

so if anyone could give me a ink or some helpful tips on replacing it I would be very greatful

UPDTE: I got the bolt off but now I cant get the seal out?

seal puller, you can rent one at autozone.

of if your in a bind i have gotten seals out with a flat-head screw driver and a small hammer

yup, i just use a flat head. but be careful not to scratch the sealing surface up. otherwise the new gasket might not seal that well.

thanks guys I appreciate the responces I actually went ahead and pulled the oil pan to get to the seal and boy was that fun lol

Are you serious? Don't need to remove the oil pan to remove the Rear main seal.

Im sorry it wasnt the rear main it was the front crank seal, I had to remore the oil pump but in order to do so I had to drop the pan

there was this liquid gasket on there that had to have been on there since 1990 it has was so hard you couldnt cut it with a razor like they used JB weld or something

yea, that [shizzle] was what held my windage tray on and it took forever to get it off and clean

stock, there was no gasket between the windage tray, and oil pan. they just used that hard sealant you ran into. so its normal to find that.
