so guys, i just bought a 89 mx6 gt, it has a 2.2L non turbo motor that was swapped into it, the guy gave me the exhaust turbo manifold,
it runs okay, but there are some issues when i get to about 5000rpm it starts cutting out, so i have to shift, but yeah.. any thoughts?
Did he mention that the computer was changed as well. There is more to changing a GT to a LX than just a motor swap. The computer, wiring harness, dissy(distributor), vacuum routing, ext...
Just for [shizzle]s and grins what distributor is in it? Does the distributor have vacuum lines running to it?
Nitrous is like a hot chick with a STD..... you know you wanna hit it, but you are afraid of the consequences.....
i dont think he changed the computer.. and yes there is a vacuum line to the distributor, ill have to check on the other things, but if i turbo it? would that help it then? he gave me the turbo manifold.. i just need to find a turbo, or is fixing it a better idea?

Your car is broken... I'm going to guess a turbo isn't going to fix it.
Got pics of the bay? Might help us figure out what the eff is going on in there.
The distributor already sounds wrong.
“One thing I’ve noticed over the years is that if you drive into London at 6am, half of the cars on the roads are Porsches and Astons. Whereas if you go in at ten to nine, they’re all Renaults. Simple solution, then. You want a nice car? Get up earlier and do more work.”
On the other hand, it'd be awesome if "turbo" ended up being the answer.

I hope you didn't pay more than $300 for this car.

The timing might even be off. If the timing is off, it will only get worse as the rpms go up. Throw a timing light on the thing and move the distributer till the marks line up. If you don't know how to check the timing, let us know and I or another member will tell you how to go about it.
i traded straight across for non running 80 626, kinda wish i kept it, but oh well, ill go take some pics of the bay,
ARRRRRGGGG!!!!!!
I want a 1st gen 626 so badly.
