hey Broski's im new!

hey guys nice to see somone still likes these cars like i do... Iam a proud owner of my second Probe GT turbo and I'm having issue's with my ride wondering if there is anyone that knows these gearbox's well I recently replaced my transmisson ebing stuck in gear.. i put another used transmission in my ride and decided to keep the original clutch and pressure plate. I put everything back together, started it and slowly pulled out of the garage hearing a spinning scrapping sound (didnt get far). I pushed the car back in the garage and pulled the transmisson out, i seen that i did put the disc on backwards . I went to autozone and bought a complete clutch kit put it all together and from then my car will not go into gear while its running. When the car is off shifts thru all gears with little hesetation But will go in all, So i started the car while it was in gear and pulls forward with chattering noise but even if i put it in reverse and start it it gose forward. now it leaks transfluid out of the rubber boot where the shift linkage shaft gose. WHY WOULD IT GO FORWARD WHEN THE CAR IS IN REVERSE??????, feels like somthing is disconnected. what did i do to my poor gearbox? or did i but a bad one?help: has anyone heard of this before?

thanks for any input guys!

Leaking out of the shift rod boot might just be a totally separate issue than what you are having..... For the record i don't buy anything from AZ, as it usually turns out like this. You might have a bad pressure plate (not releasing) thus not going into gear when it is running.... It also sounds like you have a shifter linkage problem.. I don't think that something is wrong with reverse or anything, it sounds like its not going in reverse at all. Check all bushings and make sure they are tight from the shifter forward. With the clutch problem, if you where not having this issue before hand, take the clutch back and start over....
