This car will never sell for that amount, especially not around here. I've been following this car for a while and its changed hands a couple times, never usually for very long. Kinda makes me sad that no one really knows what to do with it. What really makes me sad, however, is that god awful body kit on it. First thing I'd do to it would be to put stock pieces back on. I think I'm the only source left in the province that has parts for these cars, though...
It might not look too bad if you take off the wing and put suspension on the thing. I don't like the style of the front bumper though. I like the idea of a body kit on the mx6, but not really the reality of it.
I talked to the original owner of the car one day when I saw him driving around. He claimed the body kit is for a Skyline and he had $4000 into purchasing the kit and getting it adapted for the MX-6, and paint. When he first had it up for sale I think he listed it for $3500. I told him if he took all the body kit off and stereo components out I'd give him $1500; he declined.
Hah! Pakfeifer bolt-on kit for GD through and through, about $1500 for the entire kit unpainted. I wonder if this guy's a terrible liar or fool who got ripped off bigtime.
I find pakfeifer's kit pretty awful. Not that the design per se is bad, but it disagrees with the original design vocabulary in every way and looks totally out of place. The wing is an exception though, it's simply horrid for any decade.

You could print and show these to him and ask why he spent 4k on parts that cost less than half and take no effort to fit, I'd like to hear his response
