water pump and timing belt changed.. weird after reaction...
Ok so i change the water pump and the timing belt(easiest ive evr done tbh)
But after I ran into a strange problem.. car was slugish at any thing over 3k or if you floored it.. but it wasnt missing and sounded better than ever.. IT was in time..(but then again it wasnt)
So I adjusted the distrib and tried again this time.. it was slightly sluggish buuuut.. i was boosting to 10 psi and it was holding rock solid.. threw the entire pull.. and normally my car does 5-7 psi stock..
So I readjusted got it right and now it runs fine..
So my question is this.. has any one else ever had this happen.. with the timing being off ever so slightly that it started boosting like no tomorrow or higher than normal?
I would bet that your timing belt is off by a cog, throwing the valve timing slightly out. Make sure you check and double check the timing index marks after you've allowed the tensioning pulley to take the slack out of the belt, tightened everything down, then turn the engine over once or twice.
