I have a 1991 mazda mx6 and for some reason its puffing out black smoke and when ever we are driving the turbo shoots too much boost into the engine and then the car loses power and it starts jerking areally bad. Can anyone help us? We have no idea what is wrong.
^what he said, black smoke is usually fuel smoke.
Alot of these cars at this age the rubber hoses between the turbo outlet and throttle body need replacing.
The elbow on the throttle body is the first suspect, check this for cracks, then the hose off the turbo outlet.
After that check the ones to the intercooler. Then check the intercooler itself.
