TRIED to start the mx7 last night :(

I tried to start the mx7 last night but the starter wouldnt turn over. I used an ATX harness so Im assuming there is a "park switch" to be jumpered. Well that and the little green connector on the fuse box under the dash in the group of 3 is blowing the room fuse. Should still start though. I really need some pics of harnesses and Ive got an extra wire on the starter part of the harness Big fat un' that doesnt fit anywhere. um yeah and it isnt clicking up front to start it. Anyhow. Especially need info on which wires to jump asap so I can get back to it.

Big word of advice for those doing a 2.2LT into an RX7 swap:

You wont "remember where it goes" LABEL IT!

Yes, it is an mx6 engine mounted for RWD in an RX7. Any ?s should be directed here:

You NEED a mazda service manual to do this kind of work and to troubleshoot the electrical system. There's simply too much information to go through by just guessing. I recommend that you get a mazda factory workshop manual asap. Check my mx6 scans webpage for some info.

yeah I printed it and keep one in my shop but Im at home right now and was hoping for an easy answer. Oh well. Thanks anyway. I went out and bought a haynes manual. There is a little info about the inhibitor switch so I guess I will just trace the black and red wire from the starter back until I find it.

well Ive got it turning over perfectly. All of the engine systems appear to be working right. I had to bypass the starter inhibitor switch and make neutral switch and reverse stuff. Anyway Its not getting spark from the coil now. Maybe because it sat in the dirt and rain for a few months??? hell who knows... Anyway hope to replace that and get it started soon.

someone linked over to my website www.illstreet.com from here and remindedme of this thread Anyway, here is an update:

Last weekend i decided I wasnt leaving the shop until the damn thing was running since it was finally nice outside. I primed the fuel system and checked it for pressure. No pressure at all. Checked everything and made my way back to the fuel pump. The o ring on the T2 fuel pump connection to the GTU fuel pump asembly had ripped and it wasnt getting any pressure... It was like a 5 minute fix and the car started right up. Mounts on the sides of the engine appear to be holding up very well but the tranny mount is definitely worn and causes some noticeable vibrationa nd front to rear engine movement. Nothing a little polyurethane cant fix though. I intend to do some more permanent piping, custom wiring harness, fix the mount and rework the exhaust system maybe friday. I'll post pics once it looks better

Looks great, but I have one question? How much room is there for a throtle body boot and piping? Looks like not much. Aside from that it all looks great. Cool to see someone do this and it work.

had to move a portion of the firewall back several inches to make room for the dizzy/throttlebody and piping. probably only a temporary measure until I get the 626 distributor and make a custom throttle body/boot. The boot isnt really in the way that much though.
